Ars Poetica is the title of an exhibition showcasing students' work at ALUO – Academy of Arts and Design in Ljubljana. As part of the first year of the Master’s program, we were tasked with designing a visual identity for the exhibition, which will take place in 2025 in Gorizia as part of GO! 2025 – European Capital of Culture.
Our design approach focused on simplicity and clarity, using only two colors—red and black—and a single typefaceto emphasize the strength of the concept itself. Inspired by Gorizia’s identity as a borderless city, we incorporated this idea into our design through a black line dividing a symmetrical shape, symbolizing the fluid connection between two sides. The typography follows this concept, seamlessly flowing across the division, reinforcing the idea of unity beyond borders.
