Ars Poetica is a poetry book that brings together the works of Slovenian modernist poets, celebrating their distinct voices and artistic expressions. The concept behind the book lies in the harmonious fusion of text, organic shapes, and illustrations, creating a visually engaging reading experience that enhances the emotional depth of the poetry.
My design approach was deeply interpretative and intuitive—I wanted to fully immerse myself in each poem, analyzing its themes, rhythm, and emotions before crafting a layout that visually resonates with its essence. Each page is carefully designed to establish a connection between form and meaning, ensuring that the typography, composition, and illustrations work together to amplify the poem’s impact. The use of simple, organic shapes adds a tactile, almost fluid quality to the pages, reflecting the natural flow of the poetry itself.
Through this project, I aimed to create a multisensory experience, where readers don’t just engage with the words but also feel the atmosphere and tone of each poem through the design.
